Culture, color and culinary goodness -- Spain’s Barcelona is deeply steeped in all three, welcoming international guests interested in the city’s history and more. As avid traveler and writer Kathy Petrino mentions, Barcelona’s beautiful architecture, from cathedrals to distinct neighborhoods, brings in many visitors year-round. Additionally, Kathy Petrino says its location along the Mediterranean Sea, position as a futbol or soccer leader (FC Barcelona), Spanish culture and European heritage attract worldwide visitors to sites such as Antoni Gaudi and Lluis Domenech i Montaner, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites as well. This site of the 1992 Summer Olympics has a population of 1.6 million with an additional 3 million residents in its surrounding area, making it one of the most populous regions in Europe, not to mention one of the most traveled.

When traveling to the Hawaiian island of Kauai, nicknamed “the Garden Isle,” traveler and writer Kathy Petrino suggests several different means for exploring this tropical rainforest and land in the Central Pacific Ocean. Extending only an area of 552 square miles in its entirety, Kauai has vast terrain to learn, including segments of territory used in the famed Jurassic Park. Hiking, biking and climbing are options to take in this natural island by land and by foot -- a popular option by the majority of tourists who visit. However, as Kathy Petrino mentions, the sea provides another beautiful perspective for this majestic and aquatic location. Sea turtles, caves, blue waters, dolphins, navigable rivers and more can be discovered via the water. And then the air provides an entirely different perspective, seeing the island from the beautiful sky and above its stunning waterfalls, cliffed shores and more.

Obviously, Kathy Petrino has a talent for writing about her favorite travel destinations. Her motivation for doing so is that she wants everyone to enjoy the travels she’s experienced so far and the best way to deal with that is to make sure they know how to do it all. Kathy Petrino intends to see everything worth seeingand she wants to see those destinations thrive by making sure others visit and enjoy them as much as she did.

For example, Kathy Petrino wants everyone who reads her to visit the beautiful city of Asheville, North Carolina, which she seesas one of the most innovative and eclectic small cities in the United States. It is a great city for art, with more than 200 different artists showing off their work in their River Arts District, which is known as one of the most diverse arts districts anywhere. In Asheville, creative people have numerous other outlets for their work. For example, Asheville is highly regarded for the great food produced by the award-winning chefs working their magic in the city’s restaurant district. In addition to the food, there are also the hundreds of craft beers served up by breweries all over the city. When you’re not eating and drinking, Kathy Petrino wants you to know about other nearby activities, including paddle boating, kayaking, hiking and many more outdoor activities in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

With Kathy Petrino working in her role as a travel blogger, a great many readers get tons of insight on the places she visits, which means they are more likely to have a great trip when they follow her to her favorite travel destinations. That is, after all, why Kathy likes to travel and why she writes about them. Her goal is to make sure everyone has a great time and avoids some of the difficulties she experiences on some trips. It is Kathy Petrino’s strong sense of adventure that makes her want to see everything. She writes about it all to encourage others to share in the fun and enjoy the same places she loves. Take, for example, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Las Vegas ranks as one of Kathy Petrino’s favorite places to travel. It isn’t because “everything in Vegas stays in Vegas,” but because it is just a whole lot of fun. What she loves about it is that there is something for everyone in the family to see and do, even if they don’t like to gamble, although the casinos would rather you did, and there are few places in the world more accommodating than Las Vegas. What makes Las Vegas especially appealing as a destination is that it is among the least expensive travel destinations anywhere.

That said, the amount of inexpensive and outright free entertainment available in Las Vegas is impressive, beginning with the free circus acts on display at Circus Circus. You also can see the Eiffel Tower at one hotel and the canals of Venus at another. There are also death-defying amusement park rides that seem to stop in mid-air around the Stratosphere tower, there is a miniature version of the Manhattan skyline with a roller coaster running through it, and a large castle appears next door to a giant pyramid. What Kathy Petrino wants you to know is, if you think this stuff looks cool from the sidewalk, there are several helicopter tours of the city available, so you can see it all from the sky, to make it seem even more impressive.
